Relief Efforts
Disaster Relief Update
We are humbled and grateful to announce that Lions Clubs International Foundation(LCIF) has released an immediate USD 300,000 Major Catastrophe Grant to support the nationwide relief efforts of Lions of Sri Lanka.
From the first hours of the disaster, Lions across all 12 Districts have been on the ground-distributing essentials, providing medical support, rescuing families, and helping communities recover… even as many Lions themselves have faced damage and loss.
This incredible support from LCIF-funded largely by contributions of everyday Lions around the world-will strengthen relief operations and help us reach more families in need.
LCIF has always stood with Sri Lanka during times of disaster:
- Rebuilding homes after the 2004 tsunami
- Sustaining children through a national three-year school meal program
- Supporting us once again after Cyclone Ditwah
Looking Forward
We also look forward to welcoming Lions International President A. P. Singh to Sri Lanka soon, where he will meet Lions serving on the frontlines and discuss further support for long-term rebuilding.
